Mounting Your Plasma Television
One of the features that attract many consumers to the plasma television is its versatility. A plasma television doesn’t have to sit on the floor or in a big entertainment center if you don’t want it to. In fact, the plasma screen has reinvented the television and has made it somewhat of an art piece as it can be put on stands, on display carts, hanging from the ceiling, and can even be mounted to the wall. Plasma televisions give people the ability to put a big television in an awkward room, in a small room, or just have their television in the place where it will look best.
Mounting Your Plasma On The Wall
Wall mounting is very popular, and is actually the most common mounting option among plasma owners. Wall mounting not only looks great in both homes and businesses; it is also the least expensive mounting option. Many people like the way the plasma can hang less than two inches from the wall, so it almost looks as though it is supposed to be there. Wall mounting is a great way to really show off your plasma television because it is almost like creating your own theatre right in your own home.
There is another type of wall mount commonly called the tilt wall mount. The tilt wall mount is used when the mounting is done above the desired eye level, such as over a fireplace mantel or even over a bed or across from a bed. A tilt wall mount allows for up to 20 degrees of tilt so that the television sort of tilts down and allows for easier viewing.
Using A Table Stand
Believe it or not, most plasma TV’s come with their own table stands. These table stands are used whenever a consumer has enough tabletop space to support the television. Each manufacturer customizes these table stands so that the plasma television will fit the stand perfectly, as well as securely. The stand isn’t huge; it will typically hold the television two to five inches from the table. As cheesy as this display style may sound, it is actually a very impressive look that is more flexible than wall mounting because it isn’t permanent. You can move your plasma whenever you feel like it without drilling holes in walls or anything of that nature. The table stand is a great option for those that rent their home and do not want to put holes in their walls or those that want their plasma on a table.
Plasma TV Cart
Many businesses use a plasma TV cart to display their plasmas for sale or to demonstrate other services or such through presentation. Many counties use plasma TV carts in their courtrooms and corporations use them as well because they are able to give the maximum effect when it comes to presentations and displays. Many of the carts are very well designed as they have platforms for computers, DVD players, as well as VCR’s.
Articulating Mount
The articulating mount is very cool as it uses a swivel arm that can actually fold up when it is not being use. When the arm is folded up it will appear to be mounted flush with the wall. Even with the articulating arm on this mounting style the plasma will just be three to four inches from the wall, though this may vary slightly. Many sports bars use this type of mounting apparatus because they can turn up to 120 degrees to either side and can even tilt up so that the screen can be seen by all bar patrons. This type of mounting also works well in a home game room where you might indulge in a game of pool while you watch the big game.
Ceiling Mounts
Mounting on the ceiling is actually quite popular among those that own plasma televisions. The ceiling mount arm is typically used in addition to the tilt wall mount because the ceiling mount is not at eye level and the screen needs to be titled downward. The ceiling mount is very effective in situations such as airport displays, checkout counters, hospital rooms, and even bedrooms.
As you can see, your mounting options are quite diverse so that you can make your plasma an attractive piece in any room. Plasma televisions are very versatile, and you can make it so that you can sit in any room, in any house, in any business without taking up too much room and having it look out of place.
