The Ten Most-Wanted Games on the Xbox 360

The first anniversary of the release of the Xbox 360 is drawing near. Now that the dust has settled and before the two competitors answer with their own launches, there is time to take a look at which games on the Xbox have been the most successful and perhaps spot a market trend or two.

Quake 4: Amazingly, this heir to legacy 3D first-person shooters still wins over new generations! A game which needs no introduction, except that the graphics escalate with each new release and a feature or two is added to keep the play fresh.

Project Gotham Racing 3: Rated at E for Everyone, this game still has teenagers as it's main audience. Select and customize your own car, then race around the world in various tracks and settings. For one or two players but also can be used on Xbox Live to race with more players and find more courses.

NBA 2K6: Rated E for Everyone. A great action basketball game with the extra twist that the player must generate extra income through product endorsements. You then spend the money on bling for your player's house.

Call of Duty 2: An amazing real-time war game with quality graphics. Based on World War II, this strategy-oriented game boasts a split screen feature enabling multiplayer action. Up to eight players can play together via Xbox Live.

Kameo Elements of Power: An action-adventure fantasy epic in which players play the lead role of Kameo and must save her family from an evil troll king. (Really. Where have all of the nice troll kings gone?) Kameo can shape-shift into a variety of different monsters while in combat.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter: A tactical shooter with advanced high-definition graphics and first and third person views. Players can even command a small team of computer-supplied team mates to help on the missions. On Xbox Live, the game supports up to sixteen players to play together.

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat: A first-person shooter based on a concept of World War 3 in modern times. Players can pick which side they want to fight for. While designed for single-player, up to twenty-four players can compete with or against each other from Xbox Live.

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion: Many agree that this game even improves on it's award-winning predecessor. An involving role-playing game voiced by name actors such as Patrick Stewart and Lynda Carter playing some of the NPCs. Based in a fantasy realm, with various playable races and classes. Depending on what kind of character you build, you get assigned to a guild and have to complete quests associated with that guild.

EA Sports Fight Night Round 3: Boxing game where boxers can be customized and fights from the past can be reenacted with changed outcomes. For one or two players, with Xbox Live functionality.

Burnout Revenge: As opposed to other car games, the object here is not to race but to crash! Rated E for Everyone, this game allows you to stage spectacular stunts and play them out and record them in glorious graphic real-time.
